Advice for a shopaholic?
Dear Geeky, Before I tried gardening, I used to love shopping with my friends. Credit cards at the ready, we loved nothing better than hunting down bargains at the mall.
Now, that world is behind me. But old habits are hard to break and I’m spending my dollars down at the local garden centre.
I love the thrill of the chase – the compost on special, the marked down terracotta pots, the pristine gardening gloves and gleaming secateurs.
The thing is, I can’t stop at one bag of compost, or one pair of secateurs. I’ve stockpiled my purchases at the back of the shed. I can’t face the shame of being found out.
What should I do?
Geeky says How big’s your shed? Big enough to hide a few more weeks’ worth of goodies? Then, say nothing. Keep on supporting your local garden centre. You’re probably keeping the business afloat.
